The Chronicles of Narnia is coming to the big screen this December with its first installment “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. Did I say first? Now, there seems to be quite some hubbub about the consecutive order in which C. S. Lewis “Narnia” novels should be read and it will please those in favor of non chronology that TLWW is first. Whether this is important or not is not really for us to discuss.
The Narnia trailer however, wets our appetite for a magic children’s tale of epic proportions. You can find out all about Narnia on narnia.com.
Did I say children’s tale? Right. Why is everyone and their aunties so worked up about this movie? It is beyond me! It looks nice, ok. It’s a Disney flic, ok. It has a lion in it, ok. And a witch and – believe it or not – a wardrobe! A magical one. Right? Right! Could be cool, we’ll see.
WETA sure is busy as hell as it seems and I just hope they’ll have enough time to patch up those cheesy Dinos from the King of Kongs with all that Narnia stuff going on…
The Narnia series is very close to the hearts of many people worldwide. A lot of us grew up with these books, and after the botched attempt at a dramatisation (by the BBC no less), we’re all a bit anxious to see how this turns out.
Anxious and excited.
I was skeptical when I saw the first trailers, but the cinematic trailer has me more confident. Looks as though this will be great.
